TAPS Care Package for College Freshmen
TAPS Education Support Services is excited to open the application period to sign up to receive this year's Education Care Packages for incoming college freshmen. These care packages are for surviving children and siblings headed off to their first year of college.
The care packages include a variety of items for young adults, including a TAPS Education Resource Report — a specialized document with information on the various benefits the survivor may receive, information about on-campus support available at the survivor’s university or college, information on the school certifying official, and other programs for which he or she may qualify.
Also included in the care package are a variety of fun and useful items to help the student get started at college while honoring his or her loved one. Take notes for class or write about the emotions of experiencing college in a special TAPS journal that has a place for your loved one’s photo. Take your TAPS family with you and decorate your space with a TAPS picture frame. Break out the TAPS Tervis tumbler and fill it with coffee for those late nights studying with classmates.

The care package application is available online until June 14, 2019; the packages will ship by the end of July. Fill out the form to request your TAPS Education Care Package. Those attending the TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar over Memorial Day weekend in Arlington, Virginia, will receive their box at the graduation ceremony during the event. As there are limited quantities available, care packages will be offered only to surviving children and siblings heading into their freshman year of college in 2019.
