At this unique experience for Young Adults (surviving children and siblings ages 18-24) in Louisville, Kentucky, our purpose will be to strengthen the bonds of our survivors through our service to others, as well as to provide high adventure and teach life lessons that will encourage participants to be better housemates and stewards in their community.

Young Adults

SCHEDULE

Day 1: Arrive in Louisville and travel together to our lodging. Gather for the opening of our Louisville Experience, where we will introduce ourselves and set intentions for our time together.

Days 2:  In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, our service project for this trip will be to assist in a house build. At every level, from painting trim to installing dry wall, we will be guided by fellow community members as we work together to promote dignity and hope through sustainable and transformative development of self and neighbor. During this project our survivors will engage with the soon-to-be homeowners as they assist themselves and others to find strength, stability, and independence in their new normal.

Day 3: We will venture to the only underground adventure full of zip lines and aerial challenge courses in the country. Our survivors will forge bonds and build communication skills as they collaborate as a team to complete the course of 76 challenge elements. We will face challenges, fears, triumphs, and glorious setbacks together as we build trust and community within our teams.

Day 4: We will end our time together with a closing during breakfast, pack up, and head together to the Portland airport, where we will part ways, just for now.

ADVENTURE LEVEL

This experience is rated as a challenging adventure. Activities will challenge you and may involve heavy physical exertion and demanding environments. There will also be plenty of time to relax and connect with fellow survivors.
