Week 2: Campout

At our TAPS Good Grief and Family Camp at Home you will have a chance to experience the wonderful activities we perform at our campouts, to get connected with your family through challenges, and to engage with others by sharing your challenge experience on social media, and coming together for a live Zoom chat and activity with your TAPS family!

We were inspired by our campout experiences and the great summer activity of camping! Our family challenge, activities and booklet, and Zoom session will provide you with fun ways to explore campouts and the great outdoors!

Activity Booklet

We know this summer can get very busy with computer assignments or dance classes, or connecting with relatives who live far away.   So we created this booklet filled with fun activities that anyone can do and from anywhere.  Maybe outside under the shade of a tree, or in your room during a raining day.  We know you will have fun with this activity booklet, from the crossword puzzle to the additional recipes and challenges, it is something the whole family can enjoy!

Host Your Own Family Campfire!

For this week we challenge you to host your own family campfire! We offer a few challenges for you this week. Do one or all, either way, we guarantee you’ll have a great time and good laughs!

  • Campfire Song - Write your own family camp fire song with creativity inspired from the Activity Booklet Mad Lib!
  • Scavenger Hunt - In addition to your bingo card from the Activity Booklet, we challenge you to find camping items throughout your house, garage and yard! Bring along with you to your family campfire.
  • Taste Test Challenge - While blind folded and nose closed (with fingers or safely with a close pin) taste test several items to see if your tastebuds can accurately guess what the food item is.

Fulfill this challenge by taking and submitting photos of your family during your campfire activities. Wearing TAPS gear is highly encouraged!

  • If you have not been camping, what would excite you most about camping?
