Out of the utmost care for your health and well-being and given developments on the spread of COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone this event. We will look to reschedule this event if possible and will share new dates when available.
We know this is a difficult time for you and the spread of this illness continues to affect everyone in some way. Please remember that we will continue to be here with compassion and care 24/7 through our National Military Survivor Helpline at 800-959-TAPS (8277). Our online community and video chats are one way we can remain connected, bringing families together across the miles. We encourage you to join the online community if you have not already.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With love and care from your TAPS family
TAPS families ages 16 and up (see eligibility guidelines) will be hosted for four days/three nights of VIP experiences in the Motor City! Survivors will come together for rich and colorful moments with local sports teams, including the Detroit Lions, visiting signature attractions and learning about all that Detroit has to offer. TAPS families will also have time to spend with each other as we remember our fallen heroes and celebrate their life and service.
Flights, hotel and event transportation will be provided, as well as group activities and all group meals. Attendees will be responsible for any incidentals such as baggage fees, snacks, etc.
Although TAPS would love for all TAPS survivors to attend, we have a very limited number of spots available. For this reason, this unique adventure will be filled using a random selection process. Please note the following eligibility rules to make sure this is the event for you:
- Survivor Experiences are intended for those survivors whose loss occurred more than a year ago and who have attended previous TAPS Events. If you are within the first year of your loss, we encourage you to attend a TAPS Together, TAPS Regional Seminar, and/or the National Military Survivor Seminar.
- Families can have a maximum of four (4) participants per Fallen Hero, for this event.
- At least one participant in each family must be 18 years or older; any survivor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or a surviving adult family member with permission from their parent/guardian. All participants must be 16 years of age or older.
- Those who have attended a trip or event via TAPS where flights and lodging have both been provided (NOT including National or Regional Seminars) are not eligible to attend.
We are asking those interested in attending this event to complete the online form, which will open on February 28 at 12:00 a.m. (Eastern) and close once 150 entries have been submitted OR on Wednesday, March 4 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern), whichever comes first.
If you have questions, please email Experiences@taps.org or call the TAPS Helpline at 202-588-8277 and ask for Leigh in the Sports & Entertainment Department.
