22nd National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp
You are warmly invited and encouraged to attend the 22nd Annual TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp for Young Survivors.
Join us as we bring together survivors to share a weekend of understanding, hope, courage, and love.
Since 1995, TAPS has welcomed all who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving, providing a full weekend of events for adults and children alike. In Washington, D.C., we are surrounded by the monuments of our nation that honor the service and sacrifice of our loved ones and remind everyone that “Freedom is Not Free.”
Good Grief Camp for TAPS Kids
TAPS Good Grief Camp for children and teens provides a safe and supportive atmosphere to conduct activities and opportunities to learn coping skills, establish and identify support systems and create awareness that they are not alone in the grief of their loved one. Children and teens meet others of their own age group to share and learn, together.
Become a Peer Mentor
TAPS will also be conducting a day of Peer Mentor Training for adult military survivors who are at least 18 months beyond their own loss and are ready to be there for others and offer support. We have a full day of training on Thursday, May 26. You will learn more about grief and trauma, gain basic helping skills and become part of our TAPS Peer Mentor Team! All those attending the training must first fill out our Peer Mentor application and take our online training course prior to attending classroom training. You can register for the Peer Mentor training as part of the general registration. After you have registered you will be contacted by a TAPS staff member. For more information concerning Peer Mentor training, contact Peermentors@taps.org.
