All surviving spouses and surviving significant others grieving the loss of a loved one who served in the Armed Forces are warmly invited to join TAPS for our Florida Surviving Spouses and Surviving Significant Others Weekend Retreat.

Survivors at a TAPS Retreat

The grief journey takes us out of our comfort zone. But when we see that others share this journey, we can find new ways to grow and heal with a little more confidence.

Step away from the daily stressors of life and immerse yourself in a safe environment to help you connect with yourself, your loved one and others who understand. Explore Florida, create new bonds and celebrate your fallen hero. You’ll learn to focus on yourself and be in the moment.

Move beyond your comfort zone with the support of others who understand at the Florida Surviving Spouses and Surviving Significant Others Weekend Retreat.

SCHEDULE

Day 1: Friday is your travel day. We ask that you arrive and check-in by 4 p.m. The retreat officially begins with a group dinner, followed by introductions and a group activity.

Day 2: Following breakfast, we will head to our axe throwing activity, a moderate physical activity that relieves stress and allows group bonding! We will end the day with some therapeutic beach time.

Day 3: Sunday is reserved for our art activity! Following lunch, we will end the weekend with a closing ceremony and say our goodbyes! The retreat concludes at 2 p.m.

ADVENTURE LEVEL

This retreat is rated as a light intensity adventure. We will be active throughout the retreat and will challenge you, however, activities will involve light physical exertion, primarily walking and axe throwing. There will also be plenty of time to relax and connect with fellow survivors.
