In a world of increasing complexity, accelerated change, and structural changes learning to move forward in the face of challenges is a critical skill. Our Navigating Change Workshop will help you become more grounded during rapid change so that you can build the future you want in an intentional and proactive way.

Change, whether expected or unexpected, isn't always easy to navigate, but there are skills you can learn to help process change and position yourself to move forward.

Who Should Attend?

This program is appropriate for military survivors who are one year out from loss wanting to learn new skills to supplement, enhance and or support their grief journey.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Employ strategies for gathering information, addressing concerns and issues relative to change, evaluating options, and adapting a change direction
  • Use strategies for aligning people with a change, appealing to emotions and facts
  • Describe the importance of resilience in the context of change, and employ strategies for the participant to foster resiliency
  • Explain the importance of flexibility in the context of change, and demonstrate methods the participant can use to promote flexibility

Post Workshop Series Materials

In order to respect confidentiality and create a space where people feel comfortable sharing, we will not send a recording of the program to participants. We will, however, provide post-program resources, including handouts (in lieu of slides), to help support you in integrating what you learned during the workshop series.

Terri L. Williams

Terri is a Senior Advisor, TAPS Institute for Hope and Healing®, a U.S. Army Veteran and survivor of the September 11th Attack on the Pentagon. In her previous roles, Terri served as the Chief Learning Officer at the Federal Aviation Administration; Special Assistant to the 20th Secretary of Defense for Quality-of-Life Issues, Military Community and Family Policy; and senior roles at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the United States Space Command.

With over 30 years in the learning and development field, Terri currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at American University Key Executive Program and Guest Lecturer at Georgetown University, Strategic Management Program. She completed her executive education, graduate school, and undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, American University, Averett University, National-Louis University, The Aspen Institute, and The Office of Personnel Management. Terri is certified in a number of methodologies including the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC). She is a facilitator in Emotional Intelligence (EQI), Outward Mindset, Leadership Presence, and Dare to Lead ™ research-based leadership work of Dr. Brené Brown. In addition, she is an alumnus of the NeuroLeadership Leadership Institute, Grief Recovery Institute (GRI), and the Google Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI). Her coaching speciality areas are Positive Psychology, Team Development /Effectiveness, Navigating Uncertainty, Navigating Grief and Supporting Others in Grief, Well-Being Habits, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI), and Behavioral and Mental Health Issues (depression, anxiety, trauma).
