This event is open to military adult and child survivors.

The U.S. Army's Twilight Tattoo is a live action-packed military experience featuring U.S. Army Military District of Washington ceremonial units, the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own."

What do I need to enter Summerall Field for this event? 

  • If you are 18 years or older, you must have a photo ID to enter.
  • This event is free. We have pre-registered you for this event and you do not need a ticket to enter.

Who can attend?

  • This event is for adults and children.
  • This event is accessible to individuals with disabilities. If you require accessibility support, please email: USArmyMDW@army.mil.

When should I arrive?

  • Plan to arrive by 6:00 p.m. (but no earlier than 5:00 p.m.) for your Twilight Tattoo experience.
  • Prior to the show, meet U.S. Army Soldiers and visit displays.
  • Catch the 6:30 p.m. pre-show with singers from the U.S. Army Band and be seated for the main event beginning at 7:00 p.m.

What should I wear?

  • Casual attire. We welcome you to wear any TAPS attire and/or photo button of your loved one if you have them.
  • We recommend you check the weather on performance day. Washington, D.C. summers tend to be hot and balmy, so dress accordingly to be comfortable.

Can I buy food and drinks at the events?

  • Food and drinks will not be available for purchase, but you may bring food and bottled water.

Community is important!  This is why we create a broad variety of opportunities to bring the TAPS family together.  TAPS Togethers are one-day, organized, social events across the country, led by TAPS Staff or a survivor like you, with the goal of expanding our peer support community.
