Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

After the death of a loved one, the entire landscape of life changes - routine becomes rigorous, familiar becomes foreign.

This, after all, was not the plan. This was not on your map.

But maybe, in those dark moments where you've felt small and powerless, you've also sensed that you are meant to do something big.

It's not like you're in your comfort zone anyway.

Experience the unrivaled beauty of the Grand Teton National Park with TAPS survivors as we kayak our way through the range. Gain a sense of belonging as the awe-inspiring views draw us closer to nature and ourselves.

Join us as we find new purpose, gain radical perspective and remember what it feels like to live with determination.

Who can attend?

TAPS Expeditions are open to all adult survivors over 18 including parents, widows, adult children, siblings, battle buddies, extended family, etc.

What should I expect from this trip?

Ready to experience a landscape that will take your breath away? Come paddle alongside your TAPS family in this unique TAPS Expedition! We will kayak each day to new campsite as we experience all the Grand Teton National Park has to offer. Enjoy the beauty of the mountain range as we hike to alpine lakes. We’ll finish off the trip with an unforgettable river-raft float down the scenic Snake River. This trip is being put together through a partnership with REI. See more detailed information about the trip

How much does it cost?
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, TAPS will cover the cost of the trip, including food and lodging expenses, with the exception of airfare to Wyoming and your first night’s lodging.

Do I need to plan my own transportation and lodging?
You will need to plan and cover the cost of your transportation to and from Wyoming. The closest airport is Jackson Hole Airport (JAC). Your first night's lodging will be on your own. Plan to arrive at the Lexington Trapper Inn in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at 9 a.m. on July 23.
