State Survivor Benefits For Kentucky
Dependents Tuition Waiver
ELIGIBILITY
- Children, stepchildren and unremarried spouses
- Children must complete benefits before age 26
- No cause of death stipulations for the service member
- Service member must have been a Kentucky resident at time of death; student must be resident at time of application
- Can be used with federal benefits
BENEFITS
- Waiver of tuition
- Does not include fees, room, board and books
- Must be used at a Kentucky funded post-secondary institution
- If service member entered service from Kentucky, benefits are unlimited
- If service member was only a resident at time of death, only four years of benefits are provided
DOCUMENTS
- Copy of DD1300 or DD214
- Copy of student’s birth certificate
- Copy of marriage certificate for spouses and stepchildren
- Copy of service member's death certificate
- Proof of residency
