COUNTRY MUSIC STARS COME TO COLORADO SPRINGS FOR INAUGURAL EVENT BENEFITING THE FAMILIES OF FALLEN MILITARY HEROES

Arlington, Va. – A lineup of country music stars is coming to Colorado Springs on Thursday, Sept. 6 to support the families of America’s fallen military heroes.
The Saluting our Fallen Heroes Dinner and Songwriters Show will take place at the Stargazers Theatre as part of the annual Colorado Celebrity Classic event to benefit the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS is the leading national military service organization providing compassionate care to all those grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving in the Armed Forces or as a result of his or her service.
The dinner will feature country music stars Craig Morgan, Richie McDonald, Keni Thomas, Billy Montana and Jimmy Nichols. Morgan and Thomas are both U.S. Army veterans who served together in the 82nd Airborne Division, and Thomas is a veteran of the infamous Black Hawk Down battle in Mogadishu, Somalia. The entertainers will perform to support families of fallen military heroes, who will be present at the program to share poignant stories of how they are coping with grief and finding healing through the programs and services offered by TAPS.
The event is put on by the TAPS Colorado Executive Committee, which comprises Lynne and Bo Cottrell, General (Ret.) Gene and Jill Renuart, Lt. General (Ret.) Mike and Col. (Ret.) Paula Gould, Tom and Jill Tarver, and Kelly and Bill Eustace, who will be available to media prior to the show’s start.
