The Atlanta Falcons will host a small group of TAPS Families for an "On the Road" Salute to Service Event, November 8 to 11, 2022, including attending the Atlanta Falcons away game versus the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, November 10, 2022! We are looking for TAPS families, loved ones and/or Fallen Heroes with connections to the Atlanta Falcons who would like to attend.

Event Overview

On Tuesday, November 8, TAPS families will arrive in Atlanta and attend a TAPS Family Welcome Dinner. On Wednesday, November 9, the Atlanta Falcons have extended a special invitation for the families to join the team at practice in the morning. Later that afternoon, the group will road trip up to Charlotte, North Carolina in preparation for the game. On Thursday, November 10, TAPS Families will participate in a special tailgate and then head to the game to cheer on the Falcons! The next morning, Friday, November 11, the group will travel back to Atlanta and TAPS Families will depart for home.

 

Lodging and Transportation

Transportation, lodging and meals for the weekend, plus game tickets, will be provided by the Atlanta Falcons with support from their Salute to Service sponsors, AT&T and Zaxby’s. 

 

Entry Form Details

This online entry request form will open at 12:00 a.m. Eastern on Monday, September 12 and will close when 75 forms have been received OR at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, September 17, whichever comes first.

Please Note:

  1. All attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to take part in this event. Someone is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson). You will be required to show proof of vaccination prior to travel arrangements being made.

  2. Any survivor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or a surviving adult family member with permission from their parent/guardian. All attendees must be 10 years of age or older.

  3. For the selected families, up to four members from each fallen hero's family will participate in the recognition events during the “On the Road” Salute to Service Event. If your family does participate in the event, all family representatives must be available all day November 8  to November 11, 2022 and must attend all scheduled events.

  4. If there are more than 8 families interested in the program, there will be a random selection process, which means that some will not be selected. We will send out notifications the week of September 26.

  5. Transportation, lodging and meals for the weekend will be provided by the Atlanta Falcons. Should any family members require flights to Atlanta, the Falcons will cover these as well. Families will be required to stay at the hotels and participate in all activities with the group throughout the entire duration of the event.

  6. At this time, this opportunity is not available to those families whose Fallen Heroes have been previously honored at an Atlanta Falcons Salute to Service event with TAPS. Also, those who have attended a fully funded Sports & Entertainment event in the past five years are not be eligible.

  7. If your family does participate in the event, you will need to provide a high resolution photo and biography of your loved one, as well as a family biography for those attending. This information will be shared with the Falcons team to educate them on our Fallen Heroes and this military recognition program.
