Tara Woodruff-Dukes
Manager, TAPS Care Groups Program
Tara’s grief journey began with the death of her husband, Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jay L. Woodruff, in 2009. Her loss brought her to the TAPS family, at first for healing, and now for serving. Since 2017, she has served as both a volunteer and peer mentor, currently contributing to the growth of the TAPS Care Groups program. Tara holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing, with over 12 years experience in critical care, emergency nursing and healthcare management. She is a registered nurse, certified yoga and meditation instructor and mother of four. As a survivor and Navy veteran, Tara dutifully serves TAPS in remembrance of her late husband and in honor of all those who have served.
