The field of grief has been burgeoning in recent decades. Advances in empirical research have led to greater awareness of the range of experiences, challenges, and complications faced by grievers. This webinar will provide a brief overview of what research has learned about the factors that shape how we live with grief and will highlight ways that grief research can continue to deepen our understanding. The webinar will also describe how such knowledge can help professionals tailor their approach to supporting grievers by prioritizing the needs of the individual griever. Dr Milman will introduce a bereavement survey study, entitled “Living with Grief,” that is being conducted at TAPS to better understand the grief experience, with the ultimate goal of finding better ways of supporting bereaved military survivors as well as other grievers.

This webinar is presented by the TAPS Institute for Hope and Healing®.
