Young Adults Program Assistant

Reports to: Young Adults Program Coordinator



This position will provide administrative and logistic support for the TAPS Young Adults Program (YA). The Young Adults Program works with all military survivors ages 18 to 30 years, creating in-person and virtual events geared toward growth and healing.



  • Administrative Support
    • Creates and monitors registrations for events and programming
    • Conducts data entry related to Young Adults Program events
    • Ensures that Young Adults Program event details are added to the master calendar
    • Organizes and maintain Young Adults Program’s digital folders and files
    • Submits Young Adults Program content to Communications team for event promotion
    • Oversees all printing for Young Adults Program events
    • Engages with young adult survivors regarding events for which they are registered
    • Assists in booking flights for event participants
    • Other related duties as assigned by the senior advisor of Young Adults Program
  • Logistic Support
    • Assists with unpacking and pack-up at Young Adults Program events
    • Engages with Young Adults Program survivors regarding events for which they are registered
    • Assists in booking flights for event participants
    • Order or secure supplies from Headquarters for Young Adults Program events
    • Attend regional seminars, national seminars, and Young Adult Experiences as needed



  • Live in Washington, D.C., area preferred
  • Undergraduate degree or related experience preferred
  • 2 years related experience
  • Ability to travel
  • Able to work both independently and in a collaborative, team environment
  • Proactive planner who is well-organized and detailed-oriented
  • Possess strong time management skills to navigate competing priorities
  • Flexible and able to problem-solve and adapt quickly under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Personable, tactful, compassionate, ability to interact with a diverse population
  • Ability to work Eastern Time Zone work day
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Ability to carry a maximum of 40 lbs.
