Title: Coordinator, Adult Programs
Description:
This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of TAPS’ Adult Programs events both in person and virtually. These events support our nations’ network of military survivors and through careful orchestration, this position will help ensure a pleasant and rewarding experience for survivors attending the event. They will directly assist with location scouting, event planning including schedule, activities, and contracts, and coordination of all survivors to attend the event. They will also be required to travel in support of TAPS programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Logistics
- Collaborate with program leadership to plan and execute multi-day events for Adult Programs.
- Research and evaluate potential locations, venues, and vendors that align with the mission and goals of TAPS.
- Develop detailed event schedules, itineraries, and activity plans.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee contract coordination.
- Ensure all logistical elements support a welcoming, supportive experience for survivors.
- Program Facilitation and Survivor Engagement
- Facilitate online Care Groups, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive virtual environment.
- Lead and support activities and workshops during TAPS events.
- Provide peer support and serve as a point of contact for survivors during events.
- Communicate regularly with participants before and after events to foster connection and continuity.
- Maintain accurate event registrations and update survivor records in program databases.
- Travel and Onsite Support
- Travel to event locations to provide on-the-ground coordination and support.
- Assist with onsite logistics, survivor services, and overall event execution.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or at least 3 years of related experience.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to travel, as traveling is approximately 40% of the job.
- Able to work independently; well organized.
- Must be tactful, compassionate, reliable and tenacious.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Must be detail oriented and able to manage expenses.
- Require intermediate skills in Google Docs.
- Be able to participate in a variety of moderate athletic activities.
- Proficiency in virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
