Donate To Help Us Bring Light, Heat and Love To Ukraine

Currently Ukraine is suffering a nationwide power outage because of the constant shelling by the Russians, targeting the electric grids and critical infrastructure. Ukrainians who have endured months of aggression are now heading into winter without electricity, heat or water.

For weeks now, the team at TAPS Ukraine has been hard at work in their headquarters in Dnipro, Ukraine's largest city, located just 30 minutes from Zaporizhia and due south of Moscow. They've provided critical supplies to the Ukrainian military, meals and shelter to refugees, and love and support to those who've lost loved ones in the fighting.

In search of a way to spread light and warmth during the cold, dark winter, the families of TAPS Ukraine designed an incredibly unique candle, made by hand in their headquarters with the help of surviving families and community volunteers. These candles are built in large tin cans collected from the community with layered strips of paraffin-soaked, corrugated cardboard and three long-burning wicks placed in a special wax mixture. Once the candle is set, it not only gives vital light and heat, but it provides a way to heat water and even cook.

Right now, the Ukrainian military is picking up 1,000 of these candles each day, and the team of surviving families and volunteers at TAPS Ukraine is working tirelessly to keep up with the growing demand from the community.
