TAPS 7 Night Caribbean Cruise and Color & Flow Retreat
All female survivors who are more than six months out from their loss are invited to join us on our self-funded TAPS 7 Night Caribbean Cruise and Color & Flow Retreat.
Cruise Health Protocols: The travel requirements and health protocols are constantly evolving and vary by port of departure. Booked guests will be advised of their specific requirements before setting sail. Please see the Royal Caribbean Getting Ready to Cruise for more detailed information and the latest guidance.
Grief and trauma can hijack the normal range of human emotions. At times we may feel like we’ve been “flash frozen” and we’re unable to access feelings and memories. On the other hand, at times we’re overstimulated - we can feel hypersensitive and unprotected, like a raw nerve, where every emotion is extreme. Sometimes we need gentle thawing, sometimes we need to add some insulation.
Comfort and ease can be found when we learn to flow - to move easily in the space between these extremes, when the ways we’re closed and the ways we’re open allow the body to become a vessel for healing. Please join us on this hybrid retreat and cruise as we learn how to look with new eyes on big sky, big waves, and big feelings.
Each cruising day will consist of around four hours of dedicated programming. We’ll set the stage with an educational workshop, then follow it with an all-levels, accessible yoga class that will be tailored to the day’s focus (each session a different energy center), followed by creative work in our onboard art studio. We’ll lean into the insights that come from accessing the mind-body connection and finish with discussion, sharing, and ways to integrate the experience into the rest of the day.
Movement, exploration, and expansion mirrored with comfort, support, and certainty - the wind and water will be our teachers; other survivors on board will become your sisters. Together, we’ll tap into the power that comes from being able to function on the entire emotional spectrum - and the new perspective that comes from wide open spaces.
This is a seven-night trip round-trip cruise from Miami going to Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and a Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas aboard the Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas.
