State Survivor Benefits For Utah
Scott B. Lundell Tuition Waiver
ELIGIBILITY
- Children and spouses, remarried or unremarried
- Service members cause of death must have been killed in action or died of service connected disabilities on or after 9/11, Suicides are covered provided it can be proved that they were service connected (PTSD)
- Service member must have been a Utah resident at time of death
- Can be used with federal benefits
BENEFITS
- Waiver of full tuition
- No fees, room, board or books are covered
- Can only be used for a bachelor’s degree
- Must be used at a Utah funded post-secondary institution
DOCUMENTS
- Copy of DD1300 or DD 214
- Copy of student’s birth certificate
- Copy of marriage license for spouses
- Copy of service members death certificate
- Proof of residency
- Letter of certification from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs
