State Survivor Benefits For Oklahoma

Heroes Promise


  • Children and stepchildren
  • Students must apply before turning 21
  • Cause of death must be ruled line of duty by the military
  • Service member must have been an Oklahoma state resident for at least one year immediately prior to death, student must be an Oklahoma resident at time of application
  • Can be used with federal benefits


  • Payment of tuition and fees after all other scholarships are accounted for
  • Can be used as a cash scholarship towards living expenses
  • Covers full tuition at any state public intuition and partial coverage of any Oklahoma private institution


  • Copy of student’s birth certificate
  • Copy of service members death certificate or DD 1300
  • Proof of residency
  • Service members last tax return
