Join Team TAPS and help Carry the Load

Author: TAPS

For many years Team TAPS and survivors across the country have participated in Carry the Load, a national relay to bring Americans together in honoring our nation’s heroes. What originally started as a Memorial Day event has grown into “Memorial May” — a month-long series of activities that kicks off today through Memorial Day, May 25, 2020.

This year, we’re participating as an official nonprofit partner of Carry the Load, and we invite you to join us! While previous relays were held in various states and ending in Dallas, Texas, this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the relay will be a virtual event. Carry The Load will offer meaningful ways for participants to form teams online, build community and fundraise. You are encouraged to do one thing each day in the month of May to honor a hero —  walk, bike, teach your child a patriotic lesson, fly a flag, or any other activity that is meaningful to you.

You can join Team TAPS to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes — military, veterans, first responders and their families.

We would love to have many of you participate and join your TAPS family on this very moving and inspiring memorial month — from wherever you are — as you honor your fallen heroes and carry them with you. We invite you to share pictures of your memorial activity or walk and any thoughts that this inspiring event may bring out. If you have a TAPS T-shirt or a TAPS running jersey, we would love for you to wear it on your walk or whatever activity you choose to do.

Please register so we know you are with us! While our page is set up as a fundraising site, please know that it is optional. We would be honored for you to participate to strengthen our community and raise awareness of our military loved ones’ sacrifice. Any funds raised with Team TAPS will go directly to the TAPS response to COVID-19 — for the immediate care of TAPS families in need.
