BAE Systems continues tradition of corporate support

Author: TAPS

Each Friday, please visit our blog and join us as we take a look back at stories, people and events that have shaped who we are today. We are a family of survivors honoring our selfless heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are grieving parents, spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, fiancées, battle buddies and loved ones. We are hope. We are strength. We are TAPS.

TAPS will mark its 25th anniversary at the TAPS Honor Guard Gala to be held March 6 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. This signature fundraising event will bring together leaders in the military, corporate and military family communities to celebrate the lives lived by those who died in service to our country and the survivors who carry on their legacies.

This Friday we flashback to 2010, the first year BAE Systems became one of the major corporate sponsors for the Gala, TAPS’ signature fundraising event. BAE is once again a Presenting Sponsor of this year’s milestone event. BAE was the first corporate sponsor of the Gala to write a six-figure check that went directly to programs and events that support families who have lost a loved one serving in our military.

Last year, the employees of BAE Systems packed 550 “Hugs To Go” bags for surviving children attending the 24th Annual National Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp. The bags included snacks, trinkets and some toys. TAPS is eternally grateful for the love and support of BAE Systems, who has been one of our most dedicated corporate sponsors since 2010.
