State Survivor Benefits For Nebraska

Tuition Waiver

ELIGIBILITY

  • Children, stepchildren and unremarried spouses
  • Students must use before 26th birthday unless serving active duty themselves, then the benefits expire on the students 31st birthday
  • There are no cause of death stipulations
  • Student must be a Nebraska state resident and meet in state tuition requirements, there are no residency requirements for the service member
  • Can be used with federal benefits

BENEFITS

  • Full tuition waived
  • No fees, books, room or board are covered
  • Must be used at a Nebraska state funded postsecondary institution
  • Can only be used towards an undergraduate degree

DOCUMENTS

  • Copy of DD1300 or DD214
  • Copy of service members death certificate
  • Copy of marriage license for stepchildren and spouses
  • Proof of residency
