Online Group: WE Book Club
This group meets the 2nd Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern per the schedule listed below.
This event is open to all adult female military survivors.
Register only once via Zoom and you'll receive all of the information about each month's meeting and book.
One of the things that’s most compelling about our Women’s Empowerment online community is the way we practice listening with an open mind, observing with interest, engaging with new perspectives, and bearing witness to each other’s experiences. We know that it is powerful to recognize ourselves in each others’ narratives, to explore the paths we’ve walked and ways we’ve felt, and to always learn something in the telling and re-telling. And what better way to continue expanding the pool of stories with our Women’s Empowerment Online Book Club.
We know that, especially during hard or challenging times, there is value in being entertained, of dropping into another person’s story or another person’s world. We also know that research shows that the critical thinking that goes along with reading helps keep the mind sharp (and the heart open). So, wherever you are in your life or your grief, you’re welcome to join us as we come together to discuss characters, recount plot twists, share opinions, and build community.
Registered readers can suggest books, and we'll engage the community as we pick them.
This group meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 8 p.m. Eastern.

What to Expect
Online groups are peer-led, facilitated sessions where there’s never pressure to share, but always an opportunity. Whether you attend once or regularly, you will always be welcomed. We value the importance of knowing that there are “places” we can show up and feel supported and inspired, and you can decide to connect with us every week or whenever it’s convenient or compelling.
Please remember that, while we anticipate that these groups will become engaging, encouraging community gathering “places,” you never have to wait if you need to talk. We’re always here for you, 24 hours, 7 days a week, year-round, at 202-588-8277.
We ask that you log onto Zoom 5 minutes prior to each session as we will start our online group promptly at start time listed above. Please review our Community Guidelines to one another in advance of joining. Admission to each session will close to admission at 10 minutes after the start time.
