TAPS Friendsgiving - Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Virginia

This event is open to military survivors.

We welcome you to join us for a TAPS Friendsgiving: Traditional Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving with a Twist. This is a family friendly event.

This November our TAPS family is leaning into the idea of Friendsgiving. Even in the strange, imperfect grief world, we can still get together and celebrate what we know to be true - that we aren’t alone, that we are part of something bigger than ourselves, and that it does help to share pie or turkey sandwiches with people who “get it.”

TAPS Friendsgiving is an opportunity to support your local survivor community, or you may want to find a local survivor community. Attending a Friendsgiving event is a great opportunity to do both. We hope you can join us!

Location:

The event will be hosted by a local TAPS peer mentor and care group leader! After you register, we will send you a confirmation email with directions and parking information.

What to Bring:

Please bring a family favorite or store bought dish to share!

About TAPS Togethers

Community is important!  This is why we create a broad variety of opportunities to bring the TAPS family together.  TAPS Togethers are one-day, organized, social events across the country, led by TAPS Staff or a survivor like you, with the goal of expanding our peer support community.

If there is not a TAPS Togethers event in your area, consider hosting one. You know your community best! Perhaps you know of a simple cost-effective way to bring TAPS families together for a day of hope and healing in your area. We would love to hear from you! Please submit your idea and we will connect with you to explore the possibilities.

For more information about TAPS Togethers, please email tapstogethers@taps.org or call us at 800-959-TAPS (8277).
