Event Overview

In partnership with the Robert Irvine Foundation, TAPS Peer Mentors will be hosted for four (4) days/three (3) nights of VIP experiences in the City of Lights! Survivors will come together for rich and colorful moments while exploring Las Vegas. The highlight of the trip will be time spent with Chef Irvine, followed by a TAPS Closing Dinner hosted at Robert Irvine’s Public House. TAPS Peer Mentors will also have time to connect with others who understand their grief, as we remember our Fallen Heroes and celebrate their life and service.

Fees

Flights and event transportation, as well as all group meals and activities, will be sponsored by the Robert Irvine Foundation.

Lodging and Transportation

TAPS Peer Mentors will stay at the exciting Tropicana Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip, thanks to the Robert Irvine Foundation's generous hotel partner, Tropicana Las Vegas. Attendees will be responsible for any incidentals, such as baggage fees, snacks, etc.

Important Information

Although TAPS would love for all TAPS Peer Mentors to attend, we have a very limited number of spots available. For this reason, this unique adventure will be filled using a random selection process. Please note the following eligibility rules to make sure this is the event for you:

  • All participants must be active and engaged TAPS Peer Mentors in good standing (19 years or older).

  • TAPS Survivor Experiences are intended for those survivors whose loss occurred more than three (3) years ago and who have attended previous TAPS Events. If you are within two (2) years of your loss, we encourage you to attend a TAPS Together, TAPS Regional Seminar, and/or the National Military Survivor Seminar.

  • If TAPS Families have more than one family member serving as a TAPS Peer Mentor: Families can have a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of four (4) surviving family members per Fallen Hero for this event. Family members that are not currently active and engaged TAPS Peer Mentors, in good standing, themselves are not eligible to attend.

  • TAPS Survivors who have previously attended a trip or event via TAPS where flights and lodging have both been provided (NOT including National or Regional Seminars) are not eligible to attend.

  • All attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to take part in this event. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson). You will be required to show proof of vaccination prior to travel arrangements being made.

Application Details

We are asking those interested in attending this event to complete the online application form, which will open on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern and close once 75 applications have been submitted OR on Sunday, April 10 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, whichever comes first.
