The Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) is an important benefit to understand especially for military survivors. This presentation and discussion will explore the realities of long term care and family caregiving, as well as review highlights of the FLTCIP, including eligibility, the application process, and resources available on the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program website to assist interested military survivors and other qualified relatives with exploring program options.

Hunt Kerrigan

Colonel Hunt Kerrigan USA (Ret) served more than 32 years in the U.S. Army and has been serving at as a Military Outreach Advisor at FedPoint for more than three years. Hunt’s military experiences range from serving as a young enlisted Cavalry Scout in West Germany, to a Brigade Commander in the Alaska Army National Guard. Upon retiring in 2015, Hunt and his family moved to Durham, New Hampshire. His wife Stephanie is serving as a Civil Engineer in the Maryland Air National Guard. Hunt leads the New Hampshire Military Coaching Alliance, an organization that pairs transitioning military leaders with business executives in New Hampshire.


 

Lisa J. Roussel

Lisa J. Roussel, CLTC, LTCP

Lisa is the Senior Account Manager with FedPoint. She is a certified Long Term Care Consultant and Long Term Care Professional. In this role, Lisa works closely with agency human resources and benefits professionals, as well as retiree organizations to help educate federal and postal employees and family members on the importance of long term care planning and the benefits of the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program. The FLTCIP is administered by Long Term Care Partners.

Bonnie Carroll

Bonnie Carroll is the President and Founder of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, the leading national Military Service Organization providing comfort, care, and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. Ms. Carroll founded TAPS following the death of her husband in an Army plane crash. She is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer, and she has served in the White House under three Presidents.
