Surviving moms whose loss occurred more than 12 months ago are invited to a Moms Mentoring Moms Virtual Gathering. See "Who Should Join" section below for more information.

Please join us in this safe space for surviving moms to share, learn, grow, heal, connect and even laugh together. 

TAPS wants you to know that you are not alone in your journey. The healing power of sharing with someone who can relate to precisely what you're going through because she experienced it too can make a defining difference. Strangers quickly become friends - a knowing look, a knowing of the heart connects us, even if we’ve never met before. No matter our circumstances, who we are, or how different we are, there is no greater bond than the connection between moms who understand enduring the loss of a child.

Join us and our team of surviving mom facilitators as we all explore topics such as: uniqueness of your grief; who am I now; selfcare tools; emotion activators and more.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The "Moms Mentoring Moms" group will run for six months and includes:

  • Group Zoom Session: Each meeting will be 90 minutes in duration and will utilize both full group discussion and breakout rooms (small groups). 
  • Big Feelings, Small Groups: In order to ensure we build strong and enduring friendships, we'll divide the big group into smaller "mom huddles" for discussion. This format gives you the opportunity to share within a more intimate group of moms who are there to support you and share the experience.
  • Facebook Group: Participants will be invited into a private Facebook group for the duration of the group. Participation is not mandatory; rather, we encourage you to use this platform as another way to share, connect, and process.

SCHEDULE

East Coast Mom's Group will meet at 7 p.m. Eastern and West Coast Mom's group will meet at 7 p.m. Pacific. Sessions will last approximately 90 minutes.

EXPECTATIONS AND TIME COMMITMENT

We ask that you commit time to this group just as you would if we could travel to be together. Of course, we'll have grace with ourselves and each other, but we'll expect you to make the effort to create a sanctuary for yourself in your own space. We encourage you to create a covenant of accountability and support with yourself and your fellow surviving moms. 

Plan to block out 2 hours each month to participate. 

We recommend blocking a half hour before and spend some easy time with yourself after we conclude each 90-minute zoom session.

 

WHO SHOULD JOIN

This group is open to surviving mom’s who are now more than one year out from their loss. If your loss was less than a year ago, please know there is a place for you to connect with fellow surviving mom’s through our Care Group Chats and TAPS Parent Care Group that also meet monthly. We will be adding a “New to Grief Mom’s Care Group” soon!

 

HOW TO JOIN

Registration opens on June 1, 2021 (look for the blue buttons at the top of this page at that time). To ensure the size of the group allows for strong friendships and connections, space is limited. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. This registration confirms you're willing to find the time, make the commitment, and show up for yourself and your fellow moms. After we receive your registration, you'll receive a confirmation email. You'll also receive a reminder email with Zoom information prior to each meeting.
