This Month's Topic: Music & Sports - A Natural Duo
Special Guest: NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies’ Director of Live Entertainment and In-Arena Emcee, Tamara Moore
Whether fans noticed or not, part of what makes the experience of watching a game at their favorite stadium/arena unique is the vibe. Of the various in-game activities, music is the key ingredient used to create that vibe - while entertaining the audience and enhancing the game experience. So, how does one decide what music to use and when? And how did that all change in 2020, when fans weren’t allowed to watch the games in person? Our guest, Tamara Moore, with the Memphis Grizzlies, will walk us through how the Grizzlies create an incredible game experience for their fans - and players!
We’ll also talk about the role music plays in our everyday lives (did you know that music has been shown to help teens explore ideas/emotions and express themselves without words? It also helps us connect to social groups and gain a feeling of belonging) and how to create our own playlists for the different events and activities (road trip playlists, playlist for friends, playlist for a bad day, etc.) in our lives.
Tamara Moore worked for the NBA and an NBA team for over 20 years. Formerly choreographer and entertainment team manager of the Grizzlies and NBA, she is now responsible for producing in-game content and overseeing development and content for entertainment assets for the Grizzlies.
