Senior Data Entry Specialist, TAPS Survivor Data

DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for entering and maintaining data in accordance with TAPS Survivor Data policies and procedures. The Senior Data Entry Specialist position with flexible hours and can be performed remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaison with DOD contacts to obtain referrals and information
- Distribute data entry projects across available data team members
- Create reports from Database for TAPS programs and services upon request
- Examine reports and sheets of data for accuracy
- Research new and existing records to ensure complete and accurate biographic and demographic data
- Buildout database records for new survivor and deceased profiles
- Maintain updated survivor contact preferences
- Identify errors within data entry processes, procedures, or sources, and communicate discrepancies with appropriate staff
- Contact verifications and data cleaning between Event Management Database and Survivor Database
- Manage bulk mailing lists to include NCOA list
- Tasking for follow-ups and survivor requests for departmental specific support needs
- Staying abreast of data entry policies and procedures across teams
- Conduct staff training related to data entry and assist staff with data entry as needed
- Attend team and organizational meetings
- Additional projects as appropriate to the role of data entry
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mission-oriented
- Self-motivated and highly attentive to detail
- Proficient in Google applications, Microsoft Office Programs, other database applications, and platforms
- Demonstrates tactful and compassionate communication skills
- Able to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Able to effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, troubleshoot, identify viable options and problem-solve
- Must possess a professional demeanor
- Experience with military records a plus
REQUIREMENTS
- A subscription to a reliable, high-speed internet (minimum 5 mbps upload; minimum 15 mbps download)
- Hardwired internet connection is preferred such as DSL or Cable
- No dial-up
- Quiet, dedicated work place with a web camera at eye-level for video conferences
- Access to GoogleHangouts App on a mobile device
