I was honored to spend 10 years with 9/11 firefighter families, taking the grief journey with them. The reality is that these families have not forgotten.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, we have come a long way, and I have watched as bereaved families have once again found hope.

In a sense, our siblings are parallel travelers in life; we have a shared history. We expect this to be the longest relationship we will ever have.
