Tech Entrepreneur and Army Veteran Aaron Newman to Join TAPS Board of Directors

ARLINGTON, Va– The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is proud to announce Tech Entrepreneur and Army Veteran Aaron Newman will be joining the TAPS Board of Directors, effective immediately. 

John Wood, Chairman of the TAPS Board of Directors, stated, “Aaron Newman will bring an amazing breadth of experience and passion to TAPS.  Not only has he successfully launched six technology companies, but his service in the U.S. Army gives him a unique perspective in support of our military families.” 

Aaron Newman comes to TAPS following a career as a serial entrepreneur who has founded six successful startups including Cloud Storage Sec, SecureCloudDb, CloudCheckr, Techrigy, Application Security, Inc. and DbSecure.  Aaron has authored the books Enterprise 2.0, printed by McGraw-Hill, and the Oracle Security Handbook, printed by Oracle Press. He is an acclaimed international speaker on technology topics and has been awarded multiple patents in cloud and database security. Aaron proudly served in the U.S. Army during the First Gulf War and in addition to serving on the TAPS Board he currently serves as a Trustee of the Strong National Museum of Play, Nazareth College, the Monroe Community College Foundation, Rochester Police Foundation, and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.  

Aaron shared, "I am so excited to be involved in TAPS. I was searching for ways to give back to our global community and found the impact of TAPS to be deep and important. The mission is so compelling and noble and I sincerely hope we can grow and reach even more people."
