| Guest Speaker: Tom Golden, LCSW Private Practice Psychotherapist, Author and Speaker Program Moderator: Jill Harrington LaMorie, MSW, LSW, ACSW, Director, Professional Education,Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. Tom Golden, LCSW is an author, speaker and psychotherapist. His book, Swallowed by a Snake: The Gift of the Masculine Side of Healing focuses on the unique ways that men and boys heal from trauma and loss and has been acclaimed by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and many others. Tom has been teaching this material to mental health professionals around the world and has enjoyed presenting workshops in the United States, Canada, and Australia, having been named the “1999 International Grief Educator” by the Australian Centre for Grief Education and offering workshops in five Australian cities. His workshops are known to be entertaining and informative. Tom brings a gentle sense of humor and a gift for storytelling as he draws on his twenty-five years of practical, hands-on clinical experience in working with the bereaved. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and U.S. News and World Report, as well as on CNN and CBS Evening News. In 1995 Tom created the internet’s first interactive web page for grieving people webhealing.com and designed and started the world’s first internet memorial page, the Place to Honor Grief. Both continue to function in supporting the bereaved. Tom lives near Washington D.C. and enjoys gardening, hand drumming, photography and delights in his wife, son, and daughter. TARGET AUDIENCE This activity is intended for all professional caregivers providing services to military service members, military families, survivors grieving the death of a military service member, as well as those working in the community providing care to the bereaved. This activity includes, but is not limited to chaplains, casualty assistance officers, military personnel and leadership, social workers, nurses, counselors, marriage and family therapists, case managers, employee assistance professionals, school counselors, program directors, and other health and mental health professionals. |

Program Fee is $25.00. All active duty military personnel and Department of Veterans Affairs personnel are invited to attend without CEs free of charge. Send email to education@taps.org from your work email address. Civilians and those seeking CEs are asked to provide a small program fee of $25.00 to offset the costs of the program and CEU administration.
