TAPS Families! Have sports played a meaningful role in your life? Have storytelling and/or
creative forms of expression helped you heal during your grief journey with TAPS? Share your
story with us for a chance to attend the TAPS x NFL Los Angeles Experience this March 2026!
TAPS is thrilled to announce an exciting Sports & Entertainment opportunity designed for
surviving families whose loss occurred more than two years ago. In partnership with the NFL,
TAPS survivors will be hosted for a long weekend of unique experiences in the City of Angels.
Survivors will come together for rich and colorful moments while exploring Los Angeles. From
witnessing the glamor of Hollywood to spending time at NFL Media Headquarters, this
experience will give survivors the opportunity to create new memories and have extraordinary
experiences, thanks to our hosts at the NFL and other California-based partners.
During the weekend, TAPS families will also have time to connect with fellow military survivors
as we remember our fallen heroes and celebrate their lives and service.
Lodging and Transportation
Flights, lodging, and event transportation, as well as group activities and group meals, will be
provided through generous support from the NFL. Attendees will be responsible for any
incidentals, snacks, souvenirs, etc.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Although TAPS would love for all TAPS survivors to attend, we have a very limited number of
spots available. For this reason, if we have more entries than we have spots available, a random
selection will take place to determine attendance.
Please note the following eligibility rules to make sure this is the event for you:
● This experience is intended for those military loss survivors whose loss occurred more
than two years ago and who have attended previous TAPS Events. If you are within two
years of your loss, we encourage you to attend a TAPS Togethers event, a TAPS Regional
Seminar, and/or the TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar.
● This opportunity is for children and youth who have lost an immediate family member in
the Armed Forces. TAPS kids must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or by a
surviving adult family member with permission from their parent/guardian.
● Families can have a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) surviving family
members per fallen hero at this event. Any additional family members outside of the
TAPS child(ren) and parent/guardian must also be a surviving family member.
● All participants must be at least ten (10) years of age, or older, at the start of the event
(March 12, 2026).
● Families must commit to attending all group activities and meals and participate fully, to the best of their abilities, to be eligible for this trip.
● Those surviving families who have previously attended a trip or event via TAPS Sports &
Entertainment, where flights, lodging, meals, etc. have been provided (including those
who have attended the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2024, or 2025 NFL Pro Bowl
Experience, or the 2023 NFL Nevada Survivor Experience with teams4taps) are not
eligible to attend. Please Note: This does NOT include TAPS National or Regional
Military Survivor Seminars and Good Grief Camps.
● All participants will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to their
departure for this experience.
● All applicants will be notified by Friday, January 9, 2026.
ENTRY FORM DETAILS:
We are asking those interested in attending this event to complete an online entry form, which
will open on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 8:00 AM ET and will close when 75 entries have
been submitted, or on Thursday, December 18, at 11:59 PM ET, whichever comes first.
Please Note: Applications must include a story about the role that the NFL, football, and sports
in general have impacted or helped you or your family during your grief journey. The story can
feature any connection (large or small) to playing, watching, or engaging with the NFL, football,
and/or sports.
In addition to sharing about your favorite NFL teams and players, applications for this event
must include a story about how storytelling – through any form of creative expression – has
played a role during your or your family’s grief journey. Do you keep a journal? Do you create
videos or paint watercolors? Have you written articles for publication or short stories you’ll
never let anyone read?! We ask that you please share any creative medium you may have used
to tell a story – whether it be your own or one you made up!

If you have questions, please email teams4taps@taps.org or call the TAPS Helpline at (202) 588-8277 and ask for the Sports & Entertainment department.
