Making Sense of Multiple Losses
Special Guest: Susan Ellsworth Shaw
The death of your loved one may not be the only loss you’re coping with and yet the reality of multiple losses and their impact is often not adequately discussed or understood. Multiple losses within a short period of time can result in a feeling of being “jinxed” – one of the three components of reactive depression: feeling helpless, feeling hopeless and feeling jinxed. Join Susan Ellsworth Shaw, LCSW-C, BCD, herself an aviation widow and mother to a bereaved son and teenage daughter adopted after the death of her parent. Susan is a psychotherapist, hospice volunteer and Critical Incident Stress Management volunteer dealing with trauma.
